When the fires were happening in Australia in 2019, I was living in Canada and feeling helpless being so far away while friends and family were evacuating their homes.
Inspired to contribute in some way, I painted a series of three Australian animals and sold prints to raise money for The Koala Hospital.
I chose the koala as one of the three subjects because I had always wanted to paint one, and because they’re such an iconic and lovable part of Australian wildlife
